Foundation Friday: By Terry Cover Expert

This is one of those products I would always swatch and play with when I'm in Space NK but never buy for two reasons: the cost (it's £45) and the shades are a little off.
Having come back from holiday recently with a bit of a tan I swatched all the shades again and found that shade 9 Honey Beige is pretty spot on and since I had £10 worth of money on my rewards card I decided to pick up a bottle and I'm glad I did.

This is one of those foundations that melt into the skin and look completely natural and flawless with minimal effort, I used a Real TechniquesMulti Task Brush to buff in this product and it blended effortlessly. It as quite a creamy texture but applies like a liquid and dries to a natural matte but radiant finish, I personally don't set this with a powder but you might want to if you are really oily or prefer a more matte look.
(swatch of shade 9 Honey Beige)

The lasting power of this foundation is great, I've used it both with and without a primer (Laura Mercier Primer and Smashbox Primer Water) and found no difference in how long it lasts, I put it on in the morning and 10-12 hours later it's still there as perfect as it was when first applied.

The only thing I don't like is the smell, it as a very powdery floral scent that's way too overpowering for a face product but I will say it fades quickly so you don't have to endure it for very long.

By Terry Cover Expert comes in 12 shades and retails for £45

Charlotte Tilbury Haul!

This is the result of a lunch break spent in the Selfridges beauty hall, I browsed for an hour and my bank account was a little sad in the process, lol
The plan was to purchase the bronzer/highlighter duo only but I ended up with more obviously, there is actually no way I could ever walk past a Charlotte Tilbury and not find something to buy, their products are so beautiful and I'm rarely dissapointed.
So what did I get?

Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight £49
I've been thinking about buying this for the longest time, the price is a deterrent but when you think you are getting both a bronzer and an highlighter it's a lot easier to justify, lol.
The rose gold compact is a thing of beauty and feels "weighty' and expensive, I'm almost scared to put it in my makeup bag for the fear of getting scratches on it.
The sculpting side is not to warm or cool and goes on quite sheer which is good with those sort of products as you can layer them to the desired effect without it looking muddy.
The highlighter side is a soft, champagne gold and looks super frosty when swatched but blended out on the skin it imparts just the right amount of soft focus glow.

Cheek To Chic Swish & Pop Blush - Ecstasy £30
This product I picked up on a whim, I wasn't originally going to buy it but it was too pretty to pass up.
Technically this works as a 3 in 1 products, you have the outer golden peach ring and the darker coral pop of color in the centre but then when you swirl them together you get a 3rd shade option.

Wonderglow Instant Soft-Focus Beauty Flash Primer £38.50
Another product I've wanted to try for a while and as I'm out of primer I thought this was the perfect opportunity to pick this up. So far I like it and I'm very fussy when it comes to primers, it feels lightweight on the skin and give a nice soft focus glow without being glittery.
It's also meant to act like skin care with it's BioNymph Peptide Complex to boost collagen production and Sodium Hyaluronate to trap and seal in moisture.

Light Wonder Youth Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation £32
Oh wow, how amazing is this? It literally makes your skin look like you've had 8 hours sleep and drank 2 litres of water but it doesn't look like you're wearing make up, I look flawless when I wear this! It's odd because I'm normally a fan of medium to full coverage foundations and this one is sheer but seems to just blur everything out nicely and adds this wonderful radiance without being greasy and I don't have to wear a powder with it. I got it in shade 7 Medium as I'm using self tan at the minute and needed something darker but I won't even think twice about buying a lighter shade for the colder months.
