How to keep your tan for longer! Lancaster Tan Maximiser.

As a trained beauty therapist I'm aware that sunbathing is bad for you and tanned skin equals damaged skin but I feel much better when I'm golden brown than pasty white, when I'm on holiday I will happily sunbathe all day (I use SPF30 on my body and 50 on my face) and the goal is to go as dark as possible.
I'm lucky that I don't burn thanks to being half Italian but I don't tan quickly either, it will take a good 3 days before I notice a difference and I usually reach a certain color and then won't get any darker, that's where Lancaster's Tan Maximeser comes into play!

It's essentially an after sun that will soothe and moisturizer your skin but at the same time stimulate the production of melanin to the intensify and extend the wear of you tan and guess what it really works!
I'm not sure how it does it exactly but I definitely notice a difference when I used this compared to when I haven't and the bonus is that it isn't sticky or greasy an is easily absorbed into the skin.

So next time you're waiting to board your flight at the airport pick up a bottle of this (it's always on offer) and be amazed!!!

Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme

Anyone who knows me well will know that my favorite scent of all time is Chanel's Coromandel, it's my signature scent and I would happily bathe in that stuff it's that good!
I'm a big fan of oriental sweet scents, I love vanilla, spices, tonka bean and white florals and I am that person who you can smell a mile off because I like to be quite generous with my application, I don't really do "fresh and light" or anything too girly, pretty or floral.

For some strange reason I was a bit late to the Tom Ford Noir party not realizing that they where releasing a women's version but it was love at first sniff and I bought a bottle the very second I fist smelled it!

I'm a fan of Tom Ford's fragrances anyways (Black Orchid, Velvet Orchid, Tobacco Vanille) and his fragrances tend to be a little bit more unique but Noir Pour Femme is Amazing!

This is my new night out perfume, it smells sweet, warm and sexy and it wears for hours which is good because it's expensive but you will feel and smell expensive while wearing it.

Top Notes
Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Mandarin Orange, Ginger

Middle Notes
Rose, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Kulfi

Base Note
Vanilla, Amber, Sandalwood, Lentisque

I do not get a whole lot of citrus with this but what I do smell is the kulfi, vanilla and amber note which give the perfume a seductive feel and manages to smell sweet and deep at the same time.
I bought the 35ml because I wanted to be able to carry it around with me but I will be investing in the 100ml and the body lotion to layer the scent and make it last even longer.

Prices start at £35 for the lotion and you can buy Tom Ford Noir pour femme from Debenhams.

Foundation Friday: Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder

It's no surprise that I'm a big fan of anything Charlotte Tilbury releases, her FilmStar Bronze & Glow is amazing, I love her Dolce Vita palette and the Lip Cheat lip liners are some of the best on the market.

I'd been looking for a lightweight, dewy foundation to wear on "good skin days" and decided to give this little one a try.

What Mrs Tilbury as to say about it!
I’ve created the holy grail of foundations… An air-light formula with wonder powers: it illuminates, smoothes, hydrates, minimises pores and reduces wrinkles for perfect skin. When it comes to foundation, I have one simple rule: perfect coverage in a light-weight formula. Eyes can be intense, lips can be full on, but your complexion should be seamless, breathable and beautiful. It’s one of my 7 wonders for your skin!

• This innovative technology breathes a diaphanous veil of youth-enhancing tint across your complexion, evening out imperfections and moisturising the skin. It’s like a halo effect of luminosity and colour.
• A pool of youth-boosting actives helps reduce wrinkles, fight uneven skin tone and smooth over the surface for a “baby-skin effect”.
• A botanical alternative to retinol stimulates epidermal renewal by kick-starting collagen production, delaying the onset of wrinkles and creating a perfect make-up base.
• SPF 15 protects skin from UV damage.
• Pseudo-ceramides hydrate your skin for up to 18 hours.
• For dry, normal, combination skin types.

This foundation gives skin that "Victoria Secret supermodel glow" skin looks lit from within and is almost imperceptible on the skin. The coverage is light but it somehow manages to cover everything it needs to without looking cakey or heavy.
I normally find dewy foundations feel heavy on the skin but this one doesn't, it feel light but at the same time hydrating and actually feels like it's doing some good to my skin.
I find application is best using a stippling brush and building up coverage in thin layers, a light dusting of powder over the top ensures that the foundation lasts all day.
I picked up shade 7 which initially I thought might be too dark but it matches my tanned skin perfectly, obviously I will have to pick up a lighter shade for the colder months.
If your looking for the perfect summer foundation this might be the one!

Review: LaVanila The Healthy Deodorant

I must admit that I'm not a big fan of natural deodorant, I find that they doesn't keep me fresh as I would like and they usually leave white marks.
I popped a small travel size of the Pure Vanilla scent in my basket last time I placed an order on Sephora not really expecting much but I can honestly say I'm well impressed!

LaVanila  The Healthy Deodorant is a all-natural, freshly scented deodorant provides superior, long-lasting odor protection. Soothing essential oils blend with powerful anti-oxidants and beta glucan technology for daily defense and nourishment. Clinically Tested. Dermatologist Recommended. No Aluminum. No Paraben. No Propylene Glycol. No Harsh Chemicals.

At the minute I'm putting this to the test in 36 degree heat as I'm on holiday in Italy and it as kept me dry and odor free and despite it being a white stick it's left no marks.
I also felt it left my arm pits nice and smooth and I was able to use this deodorant straight after shaving without any irritation.

I will be stocking up next time I place an order on Sephora, I really want to try the Vanilla Coconut scent as that's the one everyone raves about the most.

Ingredients:
Aloe barbadensis leaf juice (Aloe juice, water/aqua), Propanediol (Corn derived), Zea mays (Corn) starch, Sodium stearate (Coconut derived), Silica, Carrageenan (Seaweed derived), Stearyl behenate (Coconut derived), Citrus medica limonum (Lemon peel oil), Inulin (Artichoke derived), Saccharomyces ferment, Alpha-Glucan oligosaccharide (Sugar derived), Yeast beta glucan, Lonicera caprifolium (Honeysuckle) flower extract, Usnea barbata (Lichen) extract, Valeriana officinalis root extract (Valerian), Hydrastis canadensis (Goldenseal) extract, Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea tree) flower/leaf/stem extract, Lycium barbarum fruit extract (Goji berry), Botanical fragrance blend.

Highlight On Fleek! Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

It's no shock to regular readers of my blog that I'm a massive Jaclyn Hill fan, I love the girl! She mega talented, he's makeup is always on point and I live her fashion style too, oh and her hair colour is amazing.
Naturally anything she collaborates on I have to get my hands on so when I saw that she had linked up with Becca to bring out her very own Shimmering Skin Perfector I knew I had to have it!

I placed a nice little cheeky Sephora order and less than a week later Champagne Pop was mine and let me tell you this is one instance where the hype is right and it exceeds expectations because this product is beautiful!
It's the most perfect peachy, champagne shimmer and manages to look striking but subtle at the same time, I feel like there's no way you could go overboard with this.
It's definitely more on the warm side but one that would suit most skin tones.

The texture is also out of this world and somehow even tough it's a powder it feels like a cream and applies so easily that it will make you want to get rid of all other highlighters.

This little baby is limited edition and you can only get it from Sephora which kinda sucks if your not in the US.
It retails for $38 and as of writing this article it's still in stock.

Movie Review: 50 Shades Of Grey

Disclaimer: this post contains graphic language and heavy use of sarcasm, if you are under 18 please look away now and normal posting will resume shortly.

After avoiding this whole 50 Shades of Grey hype for pretty much the better part of 6 months I finally picked up a copy the other day as HMV had their 2 for £20 deal and I needed something else to go alongside Jupiter Ascending.
Why do I do this to myself?
I read the book back in March and hated it with a passion not because of the whole BDSM aspect of it (hey, whatever floats your boat) but because I felt it was sexist putting too much emphasis on the male protagonist getting what he wants, when he wants and solely for is pleasure while the female just stands there and takes it, objects about what's happening to her but still goes along with it in the hope that she will change him and get a relationship out of it.

So why watch the movie you ask? Curiosity and sadly I've learned the lesson that curiosity killed the cat or in this case my patience and brain cells!

It bugs the shit out of me when people categorize this movie as a "romance" it bugs me even more when people say it promotes "abuse" all it promotes is a weak female lead who can't say no to a man who as more issues than a big issue vendor!!!

So here is a small list of the things that annoy me about this movie.

1. Didn't think it was possible but the movie is worse than the book!!! It's cheesy, the acting is horrendous, I found myself laughing at parts that I'm sure weren't meant to be funny and quite frankly I was bored out my brain and wondering why I wasted £10 on this piece of shit!
If I wanted to watch a romance film this wouldn't be it and if you watch this thinking your going to see them having sex every 5 fucking seconds like in the book then your gonna be disappointed! Just do yourself and your brain a favor and go watch some porn, please.

2. Christian Grey is a fucking humongous prick! He's a control freak, a stalker, and a selfish ass hole, everything he does to Ana is to please is needs he doesn't give a flying fuck if she's enjoying herself! He buys Ana loads of expensive shit so she'll keep letting him do her. Who in the right frame of mind buys an absolute stranger a lap top, Agent Provocateur underwear and a car? It's like he's buying sex off her but instead o paying cash it's gifts!
He's everything I detest most in a man!!!

3. Ana winds the fuck out of me! This damsel in distress act does not have me fooled, she knows exactly what's she doing and tries to manipulate Christian and succeeds by making him agree to a "relationship" when he doesn't want one. He's quite clear with her right from the start what he's like but she just ignores it and tries to change him. When he gives her "the contract" she strikes out 3/4 of what's on there because she "scared" and doesn't end up signing it in the end anyways!
Sorry but it's not believable this would never happen in real life.
In the end she walks out because SHE asks him to show her how bad it gets and starts to cry because he slaps her ass a little too hard! Oh please, you knew what he was into and that's the worst he can do to you?
Those two are not "on the same page" in fact Ana is page 2 chapter one while Christian is on Book 5.

4. They both have phones but don't fucking text each other like normal fucking people, instead they email each other, what the actual fuck???

5. Where the fuck does Ana buy her underwear?
What did your poor vagina do to you to deserve M&S pack of 7 white cotton granny pants? Jesus girl get yourself to Victoria Secrets!
And Ana for the love of God shave your dam legs, maybe a bikini wax?

6. Jose, Ana's best friend irritates me to my very core, I wanna kick him in the face!!!

7. I find it hilarious how all of Christian work clothes are Grey, it's like he woke up one morning and thought "do you know what would be cool? If I matched all my fashion choices to my surname!"
You can thank your lucky stars that your name wasn't pink!

8.  The bathtub scene is creepy as fuck, I actually found it disturbing and I can't even put my finger on why!

9. The scene in the playroom where he makes her kneel in front of the door and tells her that she will do this every time she goes in there made my blood boil!
Again it's so Christian can get off on it while Ana is like "WTF am I doing here"?
This is the point where any woman with any self respect would have got up and gone "fuck you douchebag, go have a wank, I'm out of here" but she doesn't!
Holy shit I'm getting angry just writing this!

10. And finally lets not forget that this started out as Twilight fan fiction! Twilight was shit and 50 Shades of Grey is even shittier!
